Beer.

Rico | Life,Rico's Rants | Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

In honor of my first batch of homebrew, I have changed our blog theme. I am going to be attempting my first batch this coming weekend. I’m excited and anxious. I hope it turns out good. If it does, I’ll share a bit of it with anyone willing.

Mmmmm… Beer…..

Our First Anniversary!

Jo | Family,Life | Monday, April 21st, 2008

So…Rico and I have officially been married 1 year. A year ago now our reception was in its last hour…Rico was a little drunk ;) and his aunt was talking us into coming over to her house for some home cooked Mexican food (YUM!). Our reception was awesome and the year following it has been pretty kick ass as well.

I’m not very good at putting things into words. I’m not a poetic person. I’m better at being sarcastic and cracking jokes. ;) But…..I do want Rico to know that not a day goes by where I don’t realize that I am blessed for having him in my life. I am so happy I get to share all of the great and amazing things in life with him.

I love you Rico!

Moab Day 3 | Arches N.P.

Rico | Travel | Sunday, April 20th, 2008

Today was tiring but pretty cool. Yesterdays trek through Canyonlands was probably the highlight so far… but Arches is still awesome. We hiked quite a bit today too, the most so far this weekend… and I’m beat!

Here are the pictures!

Moab Day 2 | CanyonLands

Rico | Travel | Saturday, April 19th, 2008

Today was incredible. We started early and took the Potash road (a 4×4 only road) along the Colorado River and through the bottom of Deadhorse Point. It climbs a really steep cliff and puts right at the entrance gate for Canyonlands NP. We toured the park, had some lunch, took tons and tons of pictures, then went to Deadhorse Point on the way back to Moab.

Tomorrow is Arches!

Moab Day 1

Rico | Travel | Friday, April 18th, 2008

Today was a blast! We took it easy on the drive down, had lunch in Green River, and drove up to the Sandflats Rec area. These pics were taken from there, and most of them are from my favorite old camping spot. Tomorrow we are doing Potash road and then Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point! We’ll post again later!

Rico | Life,Travel | Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Hi everyone – we are heading to Moab in the morning for our 1 year anniversary.  It should be a blast!  We’ll be taking lots of pictures and will post an update to share them when we can.

By the way, we’re having a big garage sale next weekend (the 26th and 27th).  If anyone wants to bring over some junk to sell feel free.  Or if you want to buy any of our junk please do!

More later…

1 year of bliss, mostly

Rico | Family,Life | Monday, April 14th, 2008

1 year ago this week I was a nervous wreck.

  • Is the weather going to be ok?
  • Am I going to look fat in my tux?
  • Will there be enough food and drinks for everyone?
  • Will anyone even show up?
  • Did I pay the photographer?
  • I have to pack for Vegas.
  • How are we getting to the airport?
  • No way in hell I’m dancing in front of everyone.
  • OK, if I have a few beers first
  • No way in hell I’m gonna cry at my own wedding in front of everyone…. (thanks Flask)
  • I’M GETTING MARRIED??

Yeah I got married. And I’d do it all over again in a heart beat. Jo is the best wife. She has helped me through so much and has been with me during some very tough times (sobriety, broken legs, torn ACL’s, etc.). I might not always show it, but I don’t know what I’d do without her. She really is the rock that anchors me to sanity.

I still wake up a lot wondering if this is my life or a dream. Wondering if I deserve this…

Thanks for an awesome year JoJo. I love you, and I’m looking forward to many more to come!

~Rico
